Greyhound Friends of NJ (GFNJ) is a non-profit organization dedicated to placing retired racing greyhounds into responsible, loving homes.  While GFNJ is predominantly a greyhound adoption group, it will also help some non-greyhounds in need of rescue from high-risk situations by providing them monetary support and/or a safe haven.

Connecticut Greyhound Adoption - GPA is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, all-volunteer organization based in the Farmington Valley. Our goal is to help find forever homes for as many retired racing Greyhounds as possible. Our group is strongly committed to outreach and believe that we can best help the hounds by educating and informing the public about the joys or sharing one's home with a retired racing Greyhound. Currently transporting Greyhounds from Ireland to find new homes in the US.

SHOPPING HERE HELPS HOUNDS! This month ALL PROCEEDS will be donated to Greyhound Adoption of Ohio (GAO)

GreyhoundAdoption of Ohio was established in 1992 to find homes for retired racing greyhounds. Our goal, at GAO, is to place our greyhounds with loving, committed families where they will live safe and secure for the rest of their lives. To that end, GAO offers support to help the dog transition into his or her new life and throughout the life of the pet.  Since our inception, we have placed more than 3,000 greyhounds in loving homes. We are currently bringing in ex-racers from Ireland.

QuadCities Greyhound Adoption is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. "Our goal is to find loving homes for retired racing greyhounds. We bring them to our kennel where we get them vetted and take care of them until their forever family comes a long. We give them a lot of love, but there is also a lot of work. 

We are all volunteers and we fund raise or write grants to keep us going. We do this for the love of greyhounds. We figure they worked hard for a living and now it's time they get a good retirement!

Charity of the Month: Greyhound Rescue and Adoptions of Tampa Bay, December 2018

SHOPPING HERE HELPS HOUNDS! This month ALL PROCEEDS will be donated to Greyhound Rescue and Adoptions of Tampa Bay, GREAT, Inc.

GREAT, Inc. is a non-profit greyhound rescue and adoption organization located in central Florida. We find homes for greyhounds that can no longer compete in racing. GREAT has placed over a thousand greyhounds since 1993. Although we are not affiliated with the racing industry, we do receive our dogs from the trainers and owners who want to place their retired racers in private homes. We also take in stray greyhounds that have been surrendered to animal shelters. The greyhounds we receive are evaluated through our foster care program. Foster care provides a temporary home for the greyhound during its transition from track to home.

We have no paid staff. The success of our organization depends solely on the efforts of volunteers, our network of foster parents, and donations from the community.

Charity of the Month: Greyhound Welfare, Inc., May 2018

Greyhound Welfare is an all-volunteer, non-profit greyhound adoption group. We place retired racing greyhounds throughout the metropolitan Washington DC area, including DC, Northern Virginia, and Central/Southern Maryland.Our retired racers come to us from tracks in the Mid-Atlantic and South, and all our greyhounds live in real homes until they are placed. This helps us teach the dogs about their new world, and learn more about the individual dogs. Knowing our dogs well helps us greatly with our placement success. It also helps us better help our adopters once the dog goes home.

Charity of the Month: Greyhound Friends for Life

SHOPPING HERE HELPS HOUNDS!  This month ALL PROCEEDS will be donated to GREYHOUND FRIENDS FOR LIFE 

On October 8th, GFFL was impacted by the Tubbs Fire in California.

Some of our adopters were evacuated, some lost everything, and some are hoping that their homes survived. In that fire storm, GFFL lost it’s van, office equipment, crates, sales merchandise, and our 2017 Reunion cash proceeds.

Not only will your donations help GFFL replace what we lost, but you will help our greyhound fire survivors as well as their adopters recover. We have received a tremendous outpouring and love and support, which has meant so much to those impacted by the fire. We will be eternally greytful for your donations, which will enable us to continue to find homes for ex-racing greyhounds and other greyhounds and greyhound mixes in need.

Charity of the Month: Hound Sanctuary, October 2017

HOUND SANCTUARY is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, charity dog rescue, founded to save and elevate the lives of sighthounds and other dogs suffering locally, nationally, and internationally. We are especially adept at working with fearful and traumatized dogs. 

 

All sighthound breeds are welcome.  This is a rescue sanctuary that offers safe haven, behavior modification, training, outreach & education, and adoption–to exceptional homes and adopters, to whom we also provide long-term guidance, support, affiliation, and follow up.  We are not a kennel. We serve all needy sighthound breeds, including the Galgo Espanol, the Podenco Ibicenco / Ibizan hound, Podenco Canario, Borzoi, Afghan Hound, Irish Wolfhound, Scottish Deerhound, Saluki, and similar, including mixes of these. We also help other dogs when we have the funds and space to do so.  Our rescue missions are enacted locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally, via shelter pulls and transfers, craigslist rescues, owner surrenders, abandoned/stray dogs, and transfers from other rescues in need of help.
