Save A Galgo Español (SAGE)  is a small nonprofit organization based in South Central Pennsylvania with a base near San Fransisco (CA) , founded in 2011 with the mission to raise awareness and improve the lives of the Galgo Español.  This sighthound breed, used for hunting hare in Spain, faces significant challenges and hardships.  Our goal is to educate people about their plight through seminars, meet-and-greet events, and social media outreach.  We support local shelters in Spain through dedicated fundraising efforts.  A key part of our mission is placing rescued Galgos into safe and loving homes, ensuring the highest quality of care and support.

Colorado Greyhound Adoption (CGA) is a non-profit organization 501(c)3 devoted to placement and adoption of greyhounds. We are 100% volunteer-run and available dogs are fostered in individual homes.

Colorado Greyhound Adoption is celebrating 28 years and has rehomed over 5,500 hounds during that time. We continue to keep a look out for greyhounds who need our assistance in finding their forever homes.  We are constantly looking at the different options to bring greyhounds into CGA. Allies for Greyhounds, Inc. (formerly Allies for Greyhounds of West Michigan) is an all volunteer organization dedicated to rehoming greyhounds bred for racing.  AFG has recently reached a milestone 2,000 dogs placed into loving homes since inception in  2006. Allies for Greyhounds looks out for the welfare of greyhounds, finding homes for them where they may live out their natural lives as pets.  They also work to educate the public about greyhounds' qualities as pets and their care. Charity of the Month: Sighthound Underground, December 2022

 SHOPPING HERE HELPS HOUNDS! This month ALL PROCEEDS will be donated to Sighthound Underground 

SighthoundUnderground (SHUG) is an all-volunteer organization, evolving to meet today’s sighthound needs. Retired racers--especially seniors or dogs with injuries--and unregistered Greyhounds, Italian Greyhounds, Lurchers, and other Sighthounds in the US will always be SHUG’s first priority. At the moment, the greatest need is in Spain. There are so many wonderful dogs there who desperately deserve homes. We will also work with our partners in places like Korea, which is still open to the US, to bring those dogs to their forever homes as well. And we are still here to help sighthounds in the US who need to be rehomed for one reason or another or who have special needs.

Charity of the Month: Greyhounds in Motion, November 2022

 SHOPPING HERE HELPS HOUNDS! This month ALL PROCEEDS will be donated to Greyhounds in Motion

The mission of Greyhounds In Motion is to expedite the transition of greyhounds from retired racer to family pet. We got our start because many retired racing Greyhounds in Florida and many homes across the country wanted to adopt, so the transportation of these pups was an obvious need. In the beginning, volunteers rented vans and drove several dogs at a time. Eventually, we purchased a van of our own. Our territories include: FL, GA, LA, TX, AL, AR, MO, IL, IN, MI, OH, WV, VA, NC, SC, DE, MD, TN, PA, NY, NJ.

Over time the needs shifted and we headed to Spain with the dream of helping Galgos. Through our partnership with Galgos del Sol we now have our own adoption program in addition to our transport program.

Southern Arizona Greyhound Adoption (SA Greys)

SA Greys is a Tucson-based, all-volunteer, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to finding loving forever homes for retired racing greyhounds in Southern Arizona. Since our incorporation in 2012, we have placed hundreds of greyhounds in loving and qualified forever homes.

Transforming retired racers, especially those who are injured or ill, into “couch potatoes” takes dedicated volunteers and resources. Since or founding, we have incurred nearly $1,000,000 in expenses for veterinary care, treatment, and housing. It is worth it every time we place a happy, healthy greyhound in a forever home. Their main goals are to educate people about the situation of the Galgo Español and to support local shelters in Spain through fundraising.

Another important part of our work is the placement of rescued galgos into safe and loving homes. SAGE is working with 3 rescues in Spain, to bring as many Galgos to the US for permanent homes as possible.
