Austin Greyhound Adoption’s (AGA) primary mission is to find responsible & loving homes for purebred greyhounds after life on the racetrack and to acquaint the public with the desirability and availability of greyhounds as pets. 

AGA is an all-volunteer organization with no paid staff.  We do not operate a commercial kennel facility and are totally dependent on foster homes, adoption fees, and generous financial contributions from the public.  All funds received literally go to the dogs!

The American Lurcher Project Team works on behalf of the lurchers (greyhound mixed breeds) to get them to responsible adoption groups. We believe these wonderful dogs deserve a second chance to live a life in a real home. Lurchers have a wonderful strong spirit and most of the lurchers adjust quickly and are very appreciative of their new home and family. We are not an adoption group, but we rescue and transport the dogs to groups throughout the United States and Canada. Arizona Greyhound Rescue is now known as Arizona Heartfelt Hounds. Their mission is the same - continue to make a difference in the lives of deserving Greyhounds and other Sighthounds. The new name better reflects our reaching out even further to do more of what we've always done as AGR since 1992.  AZHH is a non-profit, all-volunteer, 501(C)(3) sighthound rehoming group dedicated to finding responsible and loving forever homes whether as pets, service dogs, or residential therapy dogs.

Awesome Greyhound Adoptions (AGA), Inc. is a 501c3 corporation completely run by volunteers who are dedicated to finding responsible, loving homes for racing greyhounds that no longer qualify to compete at the racetrack.

These highly-trainable dogs are given the chance to find placement as pets, as therapy dogs or as fully-trained service dogs for veterans through our Hounds & Heroes program, assisting veterans with PTSD or who need mobile assistance. H&H has been placing trained greyhound service dogs with veterans since May 2011.

Greyhound Pet Adoption Maryland (GPAMD) is a non-profit, all volunteer, racing-neutral group.  Our roots date back to 1985 as an adoption group.  In 1995, we became a chapter of Greyhound Pets of America, and in 2017 we decided to leave to become an independent group.  Our mission is to promote public awareness that greyhounds make excellent pets.  We are steadfast in our commitment to find responsible homes for retired racers where they can experience the joy of becoming beloved companions. We work closely with each adopter to ensure their greyhound will have a smooth transition from race track to living in a home.

Charity of the Month: Greyhound Adoption of Greater Cincinnati, May 2020

GAGC is an organization dedicated to finding good homes for retired racing greyhounds. We are also dedicated to encouraging community awareness of the availability of racing greyhounds for adoption, and the suitability of retired greyhounds as loving family pets and companions.  We stand with the amazing breeders, owners, and trainers who provide us these dogs we love.

We formed our group in 2002 to provide local service and support to our present and future Cincinnati/Dayton area adopters.  G.A.G.C. is incorporated as a not-for-profit charitable organization.  We operate with a Board of Directors, and we have two experienced placement representatives in the area.  We service an area of 50 miles around Cincinnati, as well as 50 miles around the Dayton area.  

As a non-profit we have limited resources, so we will need your help to continue.  In March of 2003, we received tax-exempt recognition under section 501(a) of the Internal Revenue Code as an organization described in section 501(c)(3).  This recognition allows G.A.G.C. to receive donor tax-deductible donations to further the future growth and development of our organization.  If you can help, we are in need of donations, and they're tax-deductible!  There are greyhounds waiting for homes that are counting on our success!

GALT has assisted more than 3400 greyhounds and other sighthounds in finding their forever homes.  GALT depends solely on donations and net proceeds from its GreytStore.org for its operating budget of more than $360,000 per year for needs of the dogs in its possession. Arizona Adopt A Greyhound is proud to be one of the nation’s largest Greyhound Adoption agencies. Lots of dedicated and hard working volunteers have made AAGI the successful program it is today.

We keep all of our dogs in foster homes.  We host or attend various special events throughout the year as well as regular Meet & Greet events so people can see what wonderful pets these “greyt” dogs make. We have relationships with racing kennel owners who like us to take their dogs, plus the ever returning stream of dogs coming back for divorces, deaths, moves or finances. We always have dogs for adoption!
