At Friends of Retired Greyhounds (FORG), the dedicated volunteers find loving homes for retired racing greyhounds, lurchers, and other sight hounds. Based in the Denver, Colorado metro area, we tailor our efforts to connect these gentle, graceful dogs with families ready to give them the care and companionship they deserve.

Our mission goes beyond adoption. We work with local partners to ensure every hound gets a second chance at a happy, comfortable life. Fast-forward to 2025 and Friends of Retired Greyhounds is bigger and more efficient than before. With years of experience under our belts of placing greyhounds in their forever and loving homes, the sky is the limit with what we will be able to accomplish in the years to come, with your help.

Charity of the Quarter: Greyhounds In Motion, January - March 2026

The mission of Greyhounds In Motion is to expedite the transition of greyhounds from retired racer to family pet. We provide transport and accommodations for greyhounds — and sighthounds alike — to assist them on their journey to their forever homes. Many hounds are brought from overseas into the United States and driven to their adopting family with the help of volunteers. With many miles behind us, our mission is to get as many dogs into loving homes as possible.

Over time the needs shifted and we headed to Spain with the dream of helping Galgos. Through our partnership with Galgos del Sol we now have our own adoption program in addition to our transport program.

Greyhound Friends is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and greyhound adoption shelter based in Hopkinton, Massachusetts. Founded in 1983, we are dedicated to placing greyhounds and other dogs in responsible, loving adoptive homes, as well as educating the public about the greyhound breed and generally promoting animal welfare through educational & outreach programs. Greyhound Friends is a nonprofit dog adoption and advocacy organization founded in 1983. Serving MA and New England, with a focus on sighthounds and over 10,000 dogs adopted. Greyhound Friends gets homeless dogs home – especially purpose-bred dogs like sighthounds and sporting dogs who are overbred or discarded when no longer useful. We adopt dogs to responsible, loving homes in Massachusetts and throughout New England. We also work to educate the public about the need for adoption and humane treatment of dogs everywhere.

Charity of the Quarter: Save a Galgo Espgnol (SAGE), July - Sept. 2025

Save A Galgo Español (SAGE)  is a small nonprofit organization based in South Central Pennsylvania with a base near San Fransisco (CA) , founded in 2011 with the mission to raise awareness and improve the lives of the Galgo Español.  This sighthound breed, used for hunting hare in Spain, faces significant challenges and hardships.  Our goal is to educate people about their plight through seminars, meet-and-greet events, and social media outreach.  We support local shelters in Spain through dedicated fundraising efforts.  A key part of our mission is placing rescued Galgos into safe and loving homes, ensuring the highest quality of care and support.

Colorado Greyhound Adoption (CGA) is a non-profit organization 501(c)3 devoted to placement and adoption of greyhounds. We are 100% volunteer-run and available dogs are fostered in individual homes.

Colorado Greyhound Adoption is celebrating 28 years and has rehomed over 5,500 hounds during that time. We continue to keep a look out for greyhounds who need our assistance in finding their forever homes.  We are constantly looking at the different options to bring greyhounds into CGA. Greyhound Adoption of Greater Cincinnati is an organization dedicated to finding good homes for retired racing greyhounds. We are also dedicated to encouraging community awareness of the availability of racing greyhounds for adoption, and the suitability of retired greyhounds as loving family pets and companions.  Over 1,500 racers have found homes since 2002 because of our efforts. We stand with the amazing breeders, owners, and trainers who provide us these dogs we love. GAGC depends on your generosity to continue to foster and place happy, healthy retired greyhounds. There are still greyhounds waiting for homes that are counting on our success!

Allies for Greyhounds looks out for the welfare of greyhounds, finding homes for them where they may live out their natural lives as pets.  They also work to educate the public about greyhounds' qualities as pets and their care. Arizona Greyhound Rescue is now known as Arizona Heartfelt Hounds. Their mission is the same - continue to make a difference in the lives of deserving Greyhounds and other Sighthounds.
