SighthoundUnderground (SHUG) is an all-volunteer organization, evolving to meet today’s sighthound needs. Retired racers--especially seniors or dogs with injuries--and unregistered Greyhounds, Italian Greyhounds, Lurchers, and other Sighthounds in the US will always be SHUG’s first priority. At the moment, the greatest need is in Spain. There are so many wonderful dogs there who desperately deserve homes. We will also work with our partners in places like Korea, which is still open to the US, to bring those dogs to their forever homes as well. And we are still here to help sighthounds in the US who need to be rehomed for one reason or another or who have special needs.

Charity of the Month: Greyhounds in Motion, November 2022

 SHOPPING HERE HELPS HOUNDS! This month ALL PROCEEDS will be donated to Greyhounds in Motion

The mission of Greyhounds In Motion is to expedite the transition of greyhounds from retired racer to family pet. We got our start because many retired racing Greyhounds in Florida and many homes across the country wanted to adopt, so the transportation of these pups was an obvious need. In the beginning, volunteers rented vans and drove several dogs at a time. Eventually, we purchased a van of our own. Our territories include: FL, GA, LA, TX, AL, AR, MO, IL, IN, MI, OH, WV, VA, NC, SC, DE, MD, TN, PA, NY, NJ.

Over time the needs shifted and we headed to Spain with the dream of helping Galgos. Through our partnership with Galgos del Sol we now have our own adoption program in addition to our transport program.

Greyhound Pets, Inc. is a section 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, dedicated to the welfare of greyhounds and greyhound mixes, serving the Pacific Northwest and Southwestern Canada. We work to find responsible, loving homes for the dogs in our care. Through the efforts of our valued volunteers and benefactors, we provide loving support and veterinary services to the dogs directly in our care and ongoing resources and education for our adoptive families and the public.

Southern Arizona Greyhound Adoption (SA Greys)

SA Greys is a Tucson-based, all-volunteer, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to finding loving forever homes for retired racing greyhounds in Southern Arizona. Since our incorporation in 2012, we have placed hundreds of greyhounds in loving and qualified forever homes.

Transforming retired racers, especially those who are injured or ill, into “couch potatoes” takes dedicated volunteers and resources. Since or founding, we have incurred nearly $1,000,000 in expenses for veterinary care, treatment, and housing. It is worth it every time we place a happy, healthy greyhound in a forever home. Greyhound Friends of NJ (GFNJ) is a non-profit organization dedicated to placing retired racing greyhounds into responsible, loving homes.  While GFNJ is predominantly a greyhound adoption group, it will also help some non-greyhounds in need of rescue from high-risk situations by providing them monetary support and/or a safe haven.

Connecticut Greyhound Adoption - GPA is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, all-volunteer organization based in the Farmington Valley. Our goal is to help find forever homes for as many retired racing Greyhounds as possible. Our group is strongly committed to outreach and believe that we can best help the hounds by educating and informing the public about the joys or sharing one's home with a retired racing Greyhound. Charity of the Month: Greyhound Adoption of Ohio, June 2022

 

SHOPPING HERE HELPS HOUNDS! This month ALL PROCEEDS will be donated to Greyhound Adoption of Ohio (GAO)

GreyhoundAdoption of Ohio was established in 1992 to find homes for retired racing greyhounds. Our goal, at GAO, is to place our greyhounds with loving, committed families where they will live safe and secure for the rest of their lives. To that end, GAO offers support to help the dog transition into his or her new life and throughout the life of the pet.  Since our inception, we have placed more than 3,000 greyhounds in loving homes. We are currently bringing in ex-racers from Ireland.

Charity of the Month: Save a Galgo Espagnol, May 2022

 SHOPPING HERE HELPS HOUNDS! This month ALL PROCEEDS will be donated to SAVE A GALGO ESPANOL (SAGE)

Save A Galgo Español (SAGE)  is a small Non Profit based in South Central Pennsylvania and was founded in 2011 to raise awareness and make a difference in the lives of the Galgo Español, a sighthound breed, used for hunting hare in its country of origin, Spain.
Their main goals are to educate people about the situation of the Galgo Español and to support local shelters in Spain through fundraising.

Another important part of our work is the placement of rescued galgos into safe and loving homes. SAGE is working with 3 rescues in Spain, to bring as many Galgos to the US for permanent homes as possible.

Colorado Greyhound Adoption (CGA) is a non-profit organization 501(c)3 devoted to placement and adoption of greyhounds. We are 100% volunteer-run and available dogs are fostered in individual homes.

Colorado Greyhound Adoption is celebrating 25 years and has rehomed over 5,500 hounds during that time. Based in the metropolitan Denver area, our volunteer base continues to grow, as more and more greyhound enthusiasts become involved.

Charity of the Month: Fast Friends Greyhound Adoptions of CA, March 2022

FastFriends has a single purpose - to rehome racing greyhounds when their track careers are finished and find each one an adoptive home where they can experience long, happy lives as companion pets and family members. We have been doing this since October 1995 and are have found homes for 4,000 ex-racing greyhounds.

 FastFriends Greyhound Adoption is dedicated to finding kind, loving homes for every greyhound retiring from the Caliente Race Track in Tijuana.

Greyhound Friends is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and greyhound adoption shelter based in Hopkinton, Massachusetts. Founded in 1983, we are dedicated to placing greyhounds and other dogs in responsible, loving adoptive homes, as well as educating the public about the greyhound breed and generally promoting animal welfare through educational & outreach programs.

Consistent with this mission, over the past 35 years Greyhound Friends has grown to include a community of adopters, greyhound rehoming advocates, and dog welfare supporters working locally, nationally, and internationally.
