ADOPT A GREYHOUND ATLANTA, INC. is Atlanta’s oldest Greyhound adoption group. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization committed to providing food, shelter, and TLC to retired racing Greyhounds plus other sighthounds in need, and promoting their adoption as loving and loyal companions.  Once entering our program, a Greyhound either finds a ”forever“ home or lives with us for the duration of his/her life. We have placed over 6,500 hounds since we started.

SecondChance Greyhounds is an all-volunteer 501c non-profit organization that is working to form partnerships with correctional facilities throughout Georgia who will foster and train former racing Greyhounds to better prepare them for life as a treasured pet. In return for the good manners that they learn, the dogs provide an outlet for the inmates to practice patience, learn responsibility and allow these men and women the opportunity to experience unconditional love for the first time in many years. It’s a very special partnership that benefits both humans and Greyhounds.

Friends of Retired Greyhounds is a 501c3 non-profit, all volunteer organization dedicated to working with kennel operators and other adoption groups to place retired greyhounds in responsible, loving homes. Our organization works with veterinarians to insure that dogs adopted from FOR Greyhounds are vaccinated, and in general good health before placing them in homes. In addition to this, we educate individual and groups about greyhounds, their history, their lives as racing dogs, and our adoption program

Greyhound Rescue & Rehabilitation (GRR) is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit adoption/placement organization comprised of volunteers, dedicated to raising public awareness about the ex-racing Greyhound; their gentle & loving nature, wonderful disposition and suitability as pets and companions. GRR is committed to rescuing Greyhounds and with the help of foster families, acclimating the dogs to a home environment and preparing them for adoption. We find suitable and loving homes where the Greyhounds will be members of the family, and provide our adopting families with support and assistance as needed, as well as a network of other local Greyhound owners. We are happy to help locate adoption groups in other parts of the country for anyone interested in adopting. Since May 2000, GRR has successfully placed nearly 1400 wonderful Greyhounds in their forever homes. With your help, Greyhound Rescue & Rehab can place dozens more.

Bexata Animal Sanctuary, Inc. is a non-profit corporation founded in 2009 as a private animal sanctuary, which has evolved into a private Greyhound rescue, Greyhound Rescue San Antonio. Our purpose is to find homes for young, racing schooled Greyhounds and to educate the public on the suitability and availability of Greyhounds as pets. Our mission is motivated by a thorough understanding of the breed and the environmental characteristics that help the breed excel alongside their human handlers. To that end, we offer public adoption events, an informative website, and one-on-one attention via telephone and e-mail to help new owners of our Greyhounds learn how to transition their new pets into their families. Bexata works with rescues as far away as California to do its best to ensure each Greyhound without a home can find a permanent place they too can call their own.
